Corporate History: Hi Temp was formed in 1989 to manufacture and sell fire blanket materials to the Oilsands Mining Industry in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. There was a need for a quality material to replace the Asbestos materials which were no longer deemed as being safe to use. The product was "invented" by our major shareholder, a welder by trade, and soon became the fire blanket of choice at the Oilsands plants in Fort McMurray. The quality and particular features of the blanket, in terms of safety and reliability, has enabled Hi Temp to remain the principal supplier of welding blankets in this original market. Hi Temp made the decision to offer its products through distribution, to provide the ability to bundle the delivery of the welding blankets with other materials for plant construction and maintenance. Manufacturing Facility: The Hi Temp manufacturing plant is located at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This facility has recently been expanded to allow for a planned capacity four times its current production. Hi Temp manufactures all of its silicone coated welding blanket materials and is not a reseller of goods manufactured elsewhere. The plant contains a sew shop which produces all the individually sized blankets and welding pads. Starting in 2006-07 the sew shop produces silicone coated heater ducts for the distribution market.
